CASPER, Wyo.—A Colorado company is expanding its presence in Wyoming as it gears up to extract uranium.

Ur-Energy Inc. of Littleton, Colo., soon will move into a 7,700-square-foot office space in Casper and add to its 10-person staff, according to Wayne Heili, the company’s vice president of mining.

“Our projects are here in Wyoming,” he said. “So we’ve had a limited staff looking at the projects for a while, but now we’ve decided to move forward and open a production office. Based on that, we went out and found some space.”

Heili said he expects “the Casper office will be 15 to 20 people in short order.”

According to the company’s Web site, Ur-Energy expects to start uranium production as early as 2008 with full production by late 2009 at its Lost Soldier property near Bairoil.

Ur-Energy is a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto stock exchange.
