GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A district judge was expected to decide by July 10 whether to order a Clifton man to stand trial on multiple charges, authorities said.
Prosecutors have called Shane Johnson, 38, a “one-man crime spree” for allegedly stealing cameras, cars, credit cards, guns and snowboards between May and August of 2006.
He was also accused of taking an asthma inhaler, a bottle of beer and prescription drugs.
More than 40 counts have been filed against Johnson.
Public defender Steve Colvin said during a preliminary hearing Tuesday that Johnson had declined to accept a tentative plea deal calling for a sentence of 24 to 36 months behind bars.
Johnson was being held in the Mesa County Jail on nearly $370,000 dollars in bonds for the multiple charges.
