“Darwin” takes visitors on scientist’s

1831 HMS Beagle voyage of discovery

Through Jan. 1, The Field Museum offers “Darwin,” an interactive exhibit that explores how Charles Darwin’s revolutionary evolutionary theory took shape. Starting with the scientist at age 22 as he set sail aboard the HMS Beagle as an amateur naturalist, the exhibition displays his letters, notebooks and personal belongings, as well as interactive displays that feature interviews with contemporary scientists. Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival brings the Bard to north shore for 35th year

The 35th annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival will bring the audience’s most requested plays back to the shores of North Lake Tahoe July 12-Aug. 19. Productions include “Romeo & Juliet,” “The Taming of the Shrew” and, for the first time, a non-Shakespeare work, “Greater Tuna,” an off-the-wall, original comedy about a small Texas town, portrayed by a cast of two. Frida Kahlo exhibit celebrates 100th

anniversary of her birth through Aug. 19

The Museo de Palacio de Bellas Artes is offering the largest exhibit of Frida Kahlo’s works ever shown at one time through Aug. 19, with more than 350 pieces from the artist, including letters, photos and paintings being shown for the first time.
