Joe Koshansky had two of the Sky Sox’s four homers as Colorado Springs won its fifth straight game with an 8-3 victory Tuesday over Portland at PGE Park.

Colorado Springs starter Jorge De Paula improved to 7-3 for the season, pitching seven innings with three strikeouts while holding the Beavers to five hits.

Ian Stewart hit a two-run, inside-the-park homer for the Sky Sox, who have won seven of their last eight games and lead the Northern Division of the Pacific Coast League.

Norman rides to silver at Senior Olympics

Vicki Norman of Aurora placed second to earn a silver medal in the 5K cycling race at the Senior Olympics in Louisville, Ky. Norman finished the race in 8 minutes, 30.1 seconds in the Master 55-59 class.

Lark Birdsong of Denver placed second in the 40K cycling road race, finishing with a time of 1:14.18 in the Master 55-59 group. Norman finished the 40K in 1:06.25 for a 12th-place finish.

Marci Jenkins of Brighton High School has signed a letter of intent to play women’s soccer at Adams State College this fall.
