Outlaws rout Machine on MLL road
Brendan Mundorf scored four goals in the first half, two unassisted, and led the Denver Outlaws to a 19-9 win over the host Chicago Machine (1-5) in Major League Lacrosse Saturday. Mundorf finished with six points for the Outlaws (3-3). Brian Langtry added five points for Denver.
Bouldin named to under-19 Team USA
Matt Bouldin, a former ThunderRidge High School star now playing for Gonzaga, was selected Saturday after team trials in Dallas to the U.S. basketball team that will compete in the under-19 world championship tournament, which starts July 12 in Serbia.
Waner, U.S. women dominate Brazil
Duke guard Abby Waner, another former ThunderRidge star, helped the U.S. women’s team rout Brazil 96-40 at the under-21 world championships in Moscow. Team USA improved to 2-0 in the preliminary round.
No American starter played more than 20 minutes. Waner played 16 and scored four points.
