City attorney cited in dispute with neighbor

City Attorney Ariel Calonne has been cited on counts of harassment and criminal mischief after allegedly cursing a neighbor who told him to keep his dog off her yard.

“It’s an accusation that I’m confident will be found not to have any merit,” Calonne told the Daily Camera newspaper.

He is leaving soon to become city attorney in Ventura, Calif.

Beverly Potter said she reprimanded Calonne for allowing his dog to walk on her property and he responded by saying he would attack her if she touched his dog. She said she turned on her sprinkler system to drive the dog away, and Calonne knocked the heads off of two of the sprinklers.
