WASHINGTON—A federal jury failed to reach a verdict after a full day of deliberations Friday in a $20 million lawsuit filed against Allen Iverson following a 2005 brawl at a Washington nightclub.

Two patrons of the downtown club Eyebar claim in their lawsuit that Iverson’s bodyguard and members of his entourage beat them when they refused to leave the VIP section to make room for the Denver Nuggets point guard on July 20, 2005 .

Iverson is accused of failing to properly supervise the bodyguard, Jason Kane, and another man who was with him that night. Kane faces allegations of assault and battery. Both Iverson and Kane deny the charges.

The nine-member jury met for roughly eight hours Friday after deliberating for two hours on Thursday afternoon at the U.S. District Court house. The panel is scheduled to meet again on Monday.
