Middle-aged men who did not take annual vacations were 20 percent more likely to have a nonfatal heart attack and 35 percent more likely to die from coronary disease than men who did, according to a study in Travel+Leisure magazine. Vacationers also performed better on tests measuring their alertness upon returning to work and enjoyed an average hour more of sleep each night, according to the study by State University of New York at Oswego and the University of Pittsburgh.|The Washington Post
