The body of a 53-year-old hiker, who had been reported missing by his family, was found Sunday, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.
Lawrence Gang of Longmont had been on a climb up Mount Bierstadt. His family called authorities Saturday, saying he was overdue.
Approximately noon Sunday, Alpine Rescue Team and the Colorado Air National Guard discovered Gang’s body. A cause of death has not yet been released.
Assisting in the search were members of Park County Rescue, a flight crew from High Altitude Training in Eagle County and the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.
