I live near Pete’s Fruits and Vegetables (5606 E. Cedar Ave., 303-393-6247 ), and besides having great produce, Pete has a chile roaster that he breaks out almost every weekend. It is quite unique to have him out roasting Hatch chiles, Anaheims, sometimes just bell peppers, in the middle of the Hilltop area of town. Most folks believe you need to get onto Federal or South Sheridan to get chiles, but there is Pete faithfully (and always on request) out there (almost like a kid with a new toy) roasting away and offering to roast anything you would like.
