A look at state Higher Education Admission Requirements, or HEAR:
In 2008, students entering four-year state colleges and universities must have passed these classes in high school:
— Four English courses.
— Three math courses.
— Three natural science courses.
— Three social science courses.
— Two academic electives such as computer science, art, music, journalism or drama.
In 2010, the Colorado Commission on Higher Education plans to raise the standards to include:
— Four math courses, instead of three.
— Two foreign language courses, instead of none.
