What do hicks, hunters and hippies have in common? Apparently an affinity for the Rollinsville Stage Stop since 1868. This one-stop shop for soup, salads, sandwiches, snacks and red meat proudly boasts its undiscriminating attitude toward serving anyone and everyone who might discover themselves spanning the cultural boundaries between Black Hawk and Nederland on Colorado 119. Aside from the three H’s listed on the T-shirt, that includes fishermen on South Boulder Creek, hikers, mountain bikers and anyone else who might have worked up an appetite visiting the nearby Moffat Tunnel or James Peak Wilderness.

Entrees range from a $12 meatloaf platter to the $20 New York strip, with burgers and pasta coming in at around eight bucks. A beer goes down smoothly with musical accompaniment from the likes of Toots Hibbert Jr. (Sunday) and Jah Roots.

Find it — The Stage Stop sits at 60 Main St. in Rollinsville, a few miles south of Ned on Colorado 119. Online at .
