These adorable fire-belly toads are crawling out of the lake in City Park in my hometown. I have the privilege of living only about a block away from them! They watch me as I run laps around the lake in the mornings. If you look at their faces too long you’ll be tempted to pat one of them on the head when no one is looking – I mean, who could say no to those faces?

The picture of two of our three toads in City Park brought back some fun memories with our great-granddaughter, Danae. The frogs bring a lot of enjoyment to many of our local children.

We live in south Fort Collins, and the toads are a favorite stop for our family when we visit City Park. By coincidence we recently took some pictures there. We have often wondered ourselves about the significance of the toads but chalked it up to modern art.
