A former bank employee was charged with theft and embezzlement after a routine company audit found missing funds, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Ruth Ann Sanko-Lenz, 46, allegedly stole tens of thousands of dollars between August 2006 and July by rotating large sums of money between her teller drawer, an ATM under her supervision and the bank’s vault, authorities said. Losses are estimated at $60,000.
Sanko-Lenz was arrested on July 16. She has been released from custody after posting a $10,000 bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.
