Denver’s got mail in a new spot.
The Denver Mile High Station Post Office re-opened today at its new location in the Denver Justice Center building. The old site on Elati Street near Colfax Avenue had been closed to make room for the city’s new jail and justice center complex.
“The city of Denver has done an extraordinary job,” Denver Postmaster Alan Catlin said in a statement. “They have provided a beautiful, first-class post office. There will be no interruption in service to our customers.”
The U.S. Postal Service will own the new postal facility, located at 450 W. 14th Ave., and its parking area as part of an agreement with the city, postal officials said.
The station has 51 postal employees who process and deliver about 49,000 pieces of mail to 13,691 addresses in the 80204 ZIP code.
The office is set to be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
