Gov. Bill Ritter withdrew an offer today for state emergency management director. The governor “decided to go in another direction,” his spokesman said.
Chris Olson, director of safety services for Englewood, was named to the post this month. He was supposed to start the job July 30.
“We are evaluating our options and will move as quickly as possible to fill the position,” spokesman Evan Dreyer said.
The Division of Emergency Management is responsible for preparing for and recovering from natural disasters and terrorist attacks.
More details on Ritter’s decision will be in tomorrow’s Denver Post.
