A need for reform?
Former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Love Kourlis discussed how America selects its judges and how several parts of the country need to reform that process when the Colorado Judicial Institute held its first Judicial Independence Breakfast.
CJI is a 27-year old, non-profit, nonpartisan, citizen’s organization dedicated to judicial excellence and independence in Colorado courts. The breakfast was held at the University Club in Denver.
Chairwoman Barbara Mattison, a member of the CJI board, welcomed 170 guests from the legal, business, civic and nonprofit communities.
Joining in the discussion were CJI’s executive director, Becky Miller Updike; board chair Gale T. Miller, an attorney with Davis Graham and Stubbs; and Diana Powell, an attorney with Gutterman Griffiths.
