An 8-year-old boy who was badly injured in a crash near Denver International Airport has been upgraded from critical to serious condition, police said today.
The boy, whose name has not been released, was injured along with three other children and a woman in a rollover crash on Monday. His spine was fractured, said Aurora police Lt. Bruce Smith.
“I think he’s going to make it now,” Smith said.
Police are still looking for the driver of a car that pulled out in front of the victims’ minivan and caused the crash about 5 a.m. on 56th Avenue near Genoa Street.
Smith said no one has called the department about what happened or who the driver of the car was. Investigators know only that the car was dark blue and may be a Cadillac.
“We’re kind of hoping that the cameras in the parking lot picked up something,” Smith said.
Police ask anyone with information to call Officer Gary Moore at 303-627-3216.
