Leaders of Middle Park High School in Granby have avoided the rough waters of county court — at least for now.
They were expected in Grand County Court today to fight a citation they received in May after organizing a sophomore-class rafting trip.
The citation, written by a state Parks and Recreation Department officer, said they violated state laws by not getting a commercial river outfitters license.
The court appearance has been pushed back to a later time, said Bonnie Roesink, the district attorney handling the case for the 14th Judicial District.
Roesink plans to talk to officials from Parks and Recreation and will decide whether to proceed with the case by Thursday, she said.
