Online program helps Latinos
Countrywide Financial Corp. has launched a Spanish-language version of its Home Ownership Mortgage Education program (HOME).
At , Spanish-speaking consumers can find information on all aspects of homeownership, from personal financial services to living as a homeowner.
About 375,000 high-interest loans were made to Hispanic homebuyers in 2005, and nearly 20 percent are likely to go into foreclosure, according to the Center for Responsible Lending.
Snowmass home featured
An 8,500-square-foot Snowmass home designed by Aspen architect Scott Lindenau of Studio B Architects is featured in the latest issue of Western Interiors & Design.
Owned by Steve and Alison Brammell, the home is on one of 23 residential building sites at the Lazy O Ranch, a working cattle ranch 17 miles from Aspen.
But the home is distinctively different from most of the houses on the ranch, which feature gables and dormers typical of buildings on 1,800 acres of open rangeland. The Brammells’ home, which also includes a 2,500-square-foot detached garage with a bunkhouse, is contemporary, with sloping roofs and vertical steel panels. The colors and materials make the home fit in.
