The three men said they wanted to reclaim a stolen bike, but their actions indicated they were the robbers.
Michael Allison, 49, was sitting at the light rail station at 2901 N. Downing St. at 4 a.m. Thursday when three men in their early 20s walked up to him and accused Allison of stealing the red and white mountain bike he had with him, a police report says.
When the three demanded he give them his bike, Allison refused, and then the three threatened him, the report says.
One of them reached into his waistband as though he was reaching for a gun, the report says. Allison did not see a gun but said he was afraid for his life.
When Allison turned over his bike, the threesome ordered him to give them two diamond studded rings as well. The robbery suspects took the bike and rings and ran across a parking lot, the report says.
