Jeff Sonke scored an unassisted two-point goal 6:29 into overtime to give the Denver Outlaws a 14-12 road victory over Long Island on Saturday. Denver sent the Major League Lacrosse game into overtime when Lou Braun scored an unassisted goal at the 13:58 mark of the fourth quarter, only eight seconds after Frank Resetarits put the Lizards ahead.

Sonke and Brendan Mundorf led the Outlaws with three points each. Goalkeeper Trevor Tierney stopped 13 of the 24 shots he faced.

No power, no racing at Arapahoe Park

A one-car accident and the resulting power outage forced Arapahoe Park to postpone its 10-race program Saturday, which included two trials for the Harvest Cup Futurity and five trials for the Mile High Futurity.

A car hit a power pole Friday night, and track officials could not get a definite time regarding when power would be restored. Saturday’s card was rescheduled for Monday morning, making it a 20-race “super card.” Racing starts at 10:30 a.m.
