DENVER—Defenseman Keith Seabrook left the University of Denver after one season and signed a contract with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL, the school said Monday.

Seabrook had two goals and 11 assists in 37 games as a freshman last season.

“Keith and his family felt the U.S. college hockey development model of practice and games combined with rigorous academics would not benefit his hockey career,” Denver head coach George Gwozdecky said.
