COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Triple-jumper Kenta Bell accepted a three-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Monday.

Bell, of Decatur, Ga., tested positive for methylpredisolone on June 24 at the U.S. Outdoor Nationals in Indianapolis. Methylprednisolone is a prescription drug but Bell did not have an exemption required by anti-doping rules, USADA said.

Bell’s suspension was deferred and he was allowed to return to competition after completing an anti-doping education program this month, said USADA general counsel Travis Tygart.

He was disqualified from his third-place finish at the Outdoor Nationals.
