VAIL, Colo.—Jurors have convicted a man of killing a woman after an argument at a campsite in Eagle County.
The Vail Daily reports on its Web site that Charles Gross was convicted Tuesday of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and second-degree assault.
He was accused of shooting 35-year-old Maria Madrid as Madrid, her husband and their son, then age 14, were leaving a campsite north of Dotsero in October 2005.
Madrid’s husband, Eliseo, said Gross had accused them of not cleaning up their campsite after a picnic.
