There was just something about the freshman congresswoman from California, Norman Brokaw says, that inspired him to tell Nancy Pelosi 20 years ago to start taking notes about her life. “I could tell she was destined to make history,” said Brokaw, the head of the William Morris Agency, which recently landed Pelosi a book deal with the Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group.

Pelosi, the first female speaker of the House, is to release her memoir next year. “I look forward to telling my story for my grandchildren and in recognition of the contributions of all women across America,” Pelosi said.

Britney Spears threw a baby bottle and threatened two photographers after they took pictures of her leaving a Las Vegas spa, the photographers said in a statement Tuesday. Spears yelled “I am going to kill you!” and cursed at Andrew Deetz, who says he was beaten by Spears’ bodyguard on Thursday, according to a statement released by his lawyers. His lawyers said he plans to sue.

The men were taking pictures of Spears, 25, as she and her children left the spa at the Wynn Las Vegas casino-hotel around 11:30 a.m., accompanied by two bodyguards.

Speaking of Spears, now that his marriage to her is officially over, Kevin Federline is focused on giving their two young sons a secure upbringing outside the media glare so they can “pretend they’re like everyone else,” his lawyer said.

The couple’s divorce was made official Monday. In an interview with The Associated Press, Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said Tuesday his client will shun the spotlight when he cares for the children under a custody agreement.

“When they are with him, he is going to shield his children from unwanted media attention,” Kaplan said. “You will not find a picture of Kevin parading with the children out in a public place.”

Hold onto your spleen, Paris Hilton is going from jailbird to songbird with a role in a movie musical about organ harvesting. Hilton will co-star with Paul Sorvino and Alexa Vega in “Repo! The Genetic Opera,” which begins shooting in September in Canada, Hilton’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, said Tuesday.

It will be Hilton’s first role since she completed a 23-day stay in jail for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case, Mintz said.

After months of rumors, Nicole Richie confirmed Tuesday that she is pregnant. “Yes I am. We are,” Richie told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer for an interview to be aired this week. “I’m almost four months.” Richie’s boyfriend, Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, is the father, she told ABC, which issued a news release about the interview. The 25-year-old star of “The Simple Life” and on-again pal of Paris Hilton also talked with Sawyer about her guilty plea last week to driving under the influence and the resulting four-day jail sentence.

Usher and his pregnant fiancée, Tameka Foster, canceled their wedding last weekend, but they’re apparently still together. “As of right now we don’t have a date but we will let you know when we do,” he tells in a story posted earlier this week.

“Everybody’s fine. Tameka and the baby are fine.”
