to use it?”‘ Sorenstam said Wednesday on the eve of the LPGA’s fourth major. “I replied, ‘I would love to. Are you sure?”‘ Sorenstam has a friendly rivalry with Woods based on the number of majors won – he has 12, she has 10.
“He told me to hit left, which I already knew, and to practice my long putting, which is going to be key. And he’s absolutely right,” she said.

Detroit topped the list of best sports cities, followed by New York and Dallas-Fort Worth, according to rankings done by the Sporting News. The Tigers reached the World Series, the Pistons made the NBA playoffs, the Shock won the WNBA title and the Red Wings advanced past the second round of the NHL playoffs for the first time since 2002. The other cities on the top 10 list include Chicago (No. 1 in 2006), Los Angeles, Boston, Denver, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Minneapolis-St. Paul. The criteria for the list includes sports atmosphere, regular season won-lost records, playoff berths, bowl appearances, championships, attendance and other factors.

Tony Dungy is back on top. Six months after becoming the first black coach to win a Super Bowl, he’s about to grab the No. 1 spot on The New York Times’ best-seller list. His memoir, “Quiet Strength: The Principles, Practices, and Priorities of a Winning Life,” on Sunday will claim the top spot for nonfiction hardcover, his publishing company said in a statement Wednesday. Tyndale House Publishers said it is the first NFL-related book ever ranked No. 1.
