How’d you know?
Last week: American Haus building, Leadville
The winner: Morning Star Child Care, Leadville
Our summer-camp children found the flag. The creator of the flag is our local artist Jimmy Lee. The flag is built from rusted mining materials found among the many mines surrounding Leadville. Materials include: cables used in the mines, picks and shovels, and gold mining pans. Jimmy said that the artwork was not completed. He hopes to finish the flag later this year.
Oh, the tales she tells: Leora Hamm, Lakewood
This building is located at 147 E. Third St., Cloud City, (Leadville). Named: The American Haus, and owned by my dear friend Jimmy Lee, proprietor.
Jimmy’s business card:
Baby Doe Tabor Slept Here
But then, where did that Tramp Not Sleep?
That is Jimmy Lee, the most amazing and talented person you will ever meet. His creative imagination goes from one project to another – nonstop, never ending.
Together we have tackled various endeavors – such as taking “Try Scuba” at a Cherry Creek Dive Shop. Keep in mind that neither of us swim. Jimmy’s comment, “They will know that I don’t know how to swim when I arrive with my swim noodles.”
We mastered the “Try Scuba” class with both of us dancing on the bottom of the 10-foot-deep pool to “Hello Dolly” with scuba gear – still not knowing how to swim, but having a great time.
