Steamboat condos sell fast
Buyers snatched up more than $56 million worth of Steamboat Springs condos during a recent one-day sales event held in Denver.
More than 70 percent of the condos at Trailhead Lodge at Wildhorse Meadows sold, reflecting Steamboat’s increasing strength as a resort destination. Prices for the units ranged from $430,000 to $2.25 million. Construction of the lodge is expected to start this year.
CBRE manager wins kudos
Chad Brue, managing director of CB Richard Ellis’ Denver office, is recognized as an up-and-comer in the July issue of Real Estate Forum.
Brue, 34, heads up the private client group, a division of CBRE’s capital markets. He manages more than 250 employees on 78 brokerage teams in 48 markets across the country. The group represents investors and owners who are buying and selling properties ranging from $1 million to $20 million.
During his 10-year career, Brue has negotiated more than $500 million in transactions.
“Green” home a healthy choice
Health is the most powerful motivator for people to buy a “green” home, according to a recent survey.
As many as 42 percent of all buyers are more inclined to buy a green home based on knowledge of health benefits, compared with 17 percent for energy savings and 12 percent for the environment, according to the survey by Building Green TV and Robert Charles Lesser & Co., a real-estate advisory firm.
In 2006, there were more than 30,000 homes registered in the BuiltGreen Colorado program, with 5,000 more expected to be added each year. Over 75 percent of the homes were in the Denver metro area.
A/C a top amenity for renters
Air conditioning and parking are the most important amenities for those looking for apartments, according to a recent survey.
Other amenities ranking high in the survey by included a washer and dryer in the unit, high-speed Internet access, dishwasher, fireplace, elevator, swimming pool and hardwood floors.
