Four boys were injured when a Jefferson County school bus taking students home from soccer camp rolled Saturday on U.S. 85, Colorado State Patrol said.

The northbound bus was carrying 17 students from Golden High School just south of Happy Canyon Road at about 3:30 Saturday afternoon when the driver swerved to miss an oncoming silver pickup driving in the wrong lane, Trooper Gilbert Mares said. The bus went off the road and rolled onto its top.

Four boys were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, Mares said. They were all released by this morning.

The school bus driver, 36-year-old Chad Reid of Golden, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, State Patrol said today in a release. He is the coach of the soccer team.

The pickup driver did not stop.

Alcohol, drugs and speed are not suspected in the crash, although the investigation is continuing.

The bus, carrying the Golden High School boys soccer team, was returning home from a weekend soccer training camp in Victor.
