Good in so many ways
The word that was heard over and over Saturday night at the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center’s Casino Royale was “good.” As in: good party, good people being honored for their good deeds and good luck at the gaming tables that sprang into action after the dinner and awards ceremony held on the United Club Level at Invesco Field. Poetry in motion
The words of the poem that Ramon Del Castillo had written for each of them spoke volumes about the contributions that Mary Lou Makepeace, Denver Police Lt. Tony Lopez, Elbra Wedgeworth, Robert Alvarado, Geraldine Gonzales and Raul Yzaguirre have made to qualify them as recipients of the 16th Celebrate Culture Civil Rights Awards. The honors, given by NEWSED Community Development Corporation and the Santa Fe Drive Redevelopment Corporation, were bestowed at a dinner held in the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom.
