Denver police say a thief set off an “explosive device” at an ATM machine this morning causing damage to the machine.
Someone called police at 7 a.m. to report the explosion at the U.S. Bank on the 2500 block of South Colorado Boulevard, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.
“It appears that they used an explosive device,” Jackson said. “I don’t know the extent of the damage.”
Jackson said he could not comment on whether the thieves obtained any cash from the machine.
Police do not yet have a suspect, he said.
