Getting your player ready...

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—Denver Broncos tight end Tony Scheffler saw his first action on the field Tuesday since breaking his foot in May.

Scheffler suited up and ran a few passing routes individually for about 30 minutes but didn’t take part in any team drills or contact.

He said he has healed and is simply working out the soreness.

Scheffler said he could have done more Tuesday, but Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said the second-year tight end is still not ready to return.

Scheffler became a favorite red zone target for quarterback Jay Cutler last season, making 18 catches and four touchdowns as a rookie.
