Jack White and his wife, Karen Elson, are the parents of a baby boy. The couple’s second child, named Henry Lee White, was born Tuesday, a publicist for the White Stripes frontman said Wednesday. White and Elson have a 15-month-old daughter, Scarlett Teresa White.
“The new child and his mother are both feeling very healthy and happy,” White’s representative said in a statement. White, 32, married Elson, a 28-year-old model, in 2005.
A judge has issued a temporary restraining order that prevents the release of a 1994 videotape documenting a breast-augmentation surgery for Anna Nicole Smith. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff granted the order at the request of Smith’s former attorney and executor of her will, Howard K. Stern. The injunction prevents the sale, distribution or dissemination of the videotape. In court documents, first obtained by , Stern accused Gerald Wayne Johnson, the Texas doctor who performed the surgery, of sending a tape showing the procedure to Thomas Riccio, a Los Angeles-based memorabilia dealer. Stern claims the surgery was taped without the former model’s consent. Smith died of an accidental drug overdose in Florida in February at the age of 39. In a letter written June 22, Johnson said he routinely records surgeries with the patient’s permission and promises to keep the video confidential “during the patient’s lifetime.”
Mia Farrow has a daring plan to win the freedom of an ailing rebel leader from war-ravaged Darfur – she wants to take his place. The activist actress offered to trade places with Suleiman Jamous, who needs a stomach operation but has been confined to a base in the troubled African desert nation of Sudan for more than a year. “I am therefore offering … to exchange my freedom for his,” said Farrow in a letter to Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir. “He will apply his energies toward creating the just and lasting peace.” Farrow, 62, is a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and has visited Darfur twice. Jamous needs a stomach biopsy, which cannot be performed at the camp, and believes he will be seized by government forces as soon as he leaves. There was no immediate response from the Sudan.
The Britney Spears meltdown continued this week when the pop-tart mother of two crashed her black Mercedes into a parked station wagon in Los Angeles, and then told paparazzi, “I’m a brainiac!” No one was hurt in the fender- bender Monday, but the mercurial ex-Mouseketeer’s pride might be hurt when her fragrance, Believe, comes out, with someone else’s tighter body on the packaging, the New York Post reports. Spears recently walked out of a shoot for the perfume’s ads before decent shots were taken. But that hasn’t stopped Elizabeth Arden’s marketing campaign for the scent. “She looked amazing, but she left the shoot three times in a state of distress before driving away for good,” a source said. “They had decent shots of her face, but not her body, so the art director made the stylist – a cute girl named Kylie Cavaco – get in Britney’s clothes and pose. “They are superimposing Britney’s head on Kylie’s body. Kylie has the body Brit used to have, not the one she has now.”
