All the right stuff
Kerry Rhodes has appeared shirtless on the cover of a magazine, acted in two movies and established his own charity. Stardom has come quickly for the New York Jets safety who’s nicknamed “Hollywood” – and that’s before considering the impact he has made in two NFL seasons. “It’s great to get other things – added incentives,” Rhodes said. Rhodes, who majored in communications and minored in theater arts at Louisville, will appear in the upcoming film “Queen of Media.” The 25-year-old Rhodes plays a college athlete in the film based on radio personality Wendy Williams’ book, “Wendy’s Got the Heat – The Queen of Radio Bares All.” He also plays a cheating boyfriend in an independent film called “Misunderstandings.”
Miller’s time?
The Boston Celtics have spoken with future Hall of Famer Reggie Miller about coming out of retirement to help the once-proud franchise in its push for an unprecedented 17th NBA title. “I’m always flattered when my name is mentioned as someone who can still help an NBA team win a championship,” Miller said. “I’ve had limited discussions with Celtics management about their roster and a potential role for me. At this time, I’m enjoying my role as an analyst with TNT.” Miller, who will turn 42 this month, has been retired for two seasons, is 13th on the league’s career scoring list with 25,279 points and the leader in 3-pointers made.

Sorry, Weis, no more KIT
Notre Dame Coach Charlie Weis is a fan of text messaging recruits and bemoaned the NCAA ban that went into effect Aug. 1. “Ask my wife if I text,” he said. “She gets mad at me all the time because I’m sitting there – you should have seen me on the 31st. I was miserable. I don’t know how many texts you can send in a day, but I might have set a record on that day because it was the last day you could do it.” By the way: KIT means “Keep in touch.”
