DENVER—Denver International Airport, for years the butt of jokes over construction problems and delays, continues to draw more traffic.
Aviation Manager Turner West said today that traffic in June was the highest ever for that month, about four-point-five million. That is up three-point-three percent from June of last year and was the second-busiest month ever at the airport.
West said officials had expected strong numbers because of the increased competition at the airport. Through June the airport offered two-point-eight percent more flights than the year before.
It is the fifth-busiest airport in the nation.
