Aurora police are asking for help in finding two men who robbed a Family Dollar store this morning.
Two masked men, both armed with handguns, walked into the store in the 16900 block of East Iliff Avenue and demanded money, employees told responding officers at around 10:35 a.m., officials said in a prepared statement.
Shortly afterward, police pulled over a white Pontiac Grand Am because the occupants matched the robbers’ descriptions. A chase ensued when the car, which turned out to be stolen, side-swiped the patrol vehicle and took off, according to officials.
The passengers were arrested but are not believed to be the two men who robbed the Family Dollar.
Aurora police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call 303-627-3100.
The suspects are described as a black male in his mid-20s, about 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, wearing a black shirt with white letters and gray jeans, and a Latino male in his mid-20s, about 6-foot tall and 180 to 190 pounds, wearing a red or black shirt and jean shorts.
