The Colorado Eagles and Altitude announced a three-year television agreement Monday that will run through the 2009-10 season. Altitude will televise at least five regular-season Eagles games and one game from each Central Hockey League playoff round each season.

Altitude also will have a monthly Eagles show, beginning in October and lasting through the season.

DU promotes former CU basketball star

The University of Denver women’s basketball program promoted former Colorado star Tracy Tripp to associate head coach. Tripp has been an assistant coach with the Pioneers for 11 years. She is a native of Fort Collins and a CU graduate.

Recruits help Roadrunners reload

Metro State signed Alyssa Benson, Chelsea LeFebre and Chelsea Williamson to women’s basketball scholarships.

LeFebre, a 6-foot post player, was a three-year letterwinner at Denver Christian High School and the Metro League senior of the year in 2007.

Williamson, a graduate of Boulder High School, joins the Roadrunnners as a 5-9 sophomore guard who is transferring from San Diego State. She earned all-state honors as a high school senior in 2006.

Benson, also a 5-9 guard, was a three-year letterwinner at Minnetonka (Minn.) High School.

Metro State is coming off a 24-7 season, which included a trip to the NCAA Division II tournament.
