Pueblo police chased and confronted a man who had just killed his wife early this morning, only to watch the man commit suicide in front of them.
Police received a call at 1:22 a.m. about a woman’s screams followed by gun shots in the 1200 block of Santa Fe Avenue.
Arriving at the scene, police saw a man running toward Mesa Avenue. They followed him, then confronted him a short distance away.
The man pointed a weapon at the officers, who ordered him to drop it. Instead, the man shot and killed himself.
The female victim was transported to Parkview Hospital, where she died. Police have not released the identities of either victim.
