BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder County health officials say an 89-year-old man who had West Nile virus has died.
The Daily Times-Call reports county officials identified the man as Morris Schulter, a World War II veteran and Longmont resident. Officials said Schulter became ill on July 5 and then developed meningoencephalitis from the virus. He died on Aug. 9.
He’s the third person to die because of the disease in Colorado and the first in Boulder County. Last week two deaths linked to the virus were reported. The 63-year-old and 77-year-old, who both lived in Denver, weren’t identified.
