GLOBAL ISSUES, LOCAL SOLUTIONS: The Carbondale-based nonprofit organization Sustainable Settings hosts its Fourth Annual Harvest Festival from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. This event organized in support of organic agriculture happens at the organization’s ranch, 6107 Colorado 133 in Carbondale. It will include speakers, organic food and wine tasting, music, hayrides and awards. Tickets and registration available at sustainable or call 970-963-6107.
HAPPY OUT AND ABOUT: Saturday is the last day to walk through the Out & About Show Home, the Berkeley-neighborhood designer house organizers say is the first of its kind built entirely by tradespeople, craftsmen and designers in the “GLBT and GLBT-supportive communities.” The house at 4660 Raleigh St. has been hosting food and design demonstrations since the first week of August. Saturday’s closing-day plans include a catered Mexican fiesta. Tickets and information at outandabout or 303-331-7733. Proceeds benefit The Alexander Foundation.
A GLASS ACT: HW Home’s latest favorites and store exclusives include elegant Argentine rosette napkin rings, vivid French chandeliers and a collection of black and red Italian glassware designed especially for this Colorado store. Check out for details or drop by one of four locations including the original Boulder outpost at 1941 Pearl St., and the savvy Denver storefront at 199 Clayton Lane in Cherry Creek North.
