Copper John finds a new fan
The Copper John, a creation of Boulder tying wizard John Barr, has played a major role in many angling success stories. In the case of 13-year-old Blake Whittemore, it may have hooked a fly-fisherman for a lifetime.
Fishing recently on the White River in northwest Colorado, the Castle Rock eighth-grader used the red version of the fly to land large rainbow trout.
