COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The Army Corps of Engineers is recommending that a dam be considered to control flooding risk along Fountain Creek.

The Pueblo Chieftain said Charles Wilson of the Fountain Creek Watershed Technical Advisory Committee made the recommendation Friday.

Wilson said a dam also would help control erosion and sedimentation.

Officials also are looking at Pueblo’s levee system to see if it needs upgrading.
