STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. has laid off six year-round employees in its financial department as part of a reorganization of parent Intrawest Corp.
The employees were informed Aug. 10, Intrawest Chief Marketing Officer Andy Wirth said Friday. He said the layoffs were part of efforts to “constantly seek operational and cost efficiencies.”
Intrawest purchased Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. in March.
No other layoffs at Steamboat were expected for fiscal 2008, which ends next June 30, Wirth said. Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. has about 250 year-round employees and about 1,900 employees overall, including seasonal staff at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel.
