After years of seeking zoning that would enable it to build a new campus on 284 acres it owns in Morrison, Colorado Christian University is giving up.

The university will request the entire site be rezoned for residential, then sell the property.

The university, now located near the corner of Alameda Avenue and Garrison Street in Lakewood, plans to use the proceeds of the sale to partially pay for a new campus. It’s considering several options, including rebuilding at the Lakewood location or reopening its 53-acre Foothills campus.
