Tennis star Maria Sharapova is only 20 years old but she’s been in the game long enough — and become enough of a fashion star — to take a look back at the outfits she’s worn on the courts.

As she unveiled her dresses for this year’s U.S. Open, sponsor Nike also put on display other memorable outfits that she designed in collaboration with the athletic apparel company over the years.

“When I look back at them, I remember that period of time — and I remember the results,” she said with a laugh. She noted that she keeps all her outfits, even the ones she lost in.

Her recollections: —2007 French Open, a two-layer blue dress in a blue color dubbed “chlorine” that had a mesh overlay and a ruffled bottom.

“I got voted one of Vogue’s top 10 dresses of the week! I beat out many dresses at the Cannes Film Festival,” she said in a statement. “This dress is one of my all-time favorites.” —2007 Australian Open, a corset-style dress with a white top, lemon yellow skirt and black trim; the look was inspired by an orchid and also featured a four-leaf clover and her initials.

“This dress is a great reflection of the relaxed atmosphere of summer in January in Australia. I chose this design and the colors.

I loved the high waist with the bow in the back,” she said.

—2006 U.S. Open, a “little black dress” with a high collar, beadwork and a belt with a bow.

“This dress is my all-time favorite. The dress was inspired by a tear (sheet) of mine and my love of Audrey Hepburn and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’ It was the first time there was a day and night dress. It was amazing walking on the court and surprising everyone with the N.Y.

essential, the little black dress.” —2004 Wimbledon, an ultra-lightweight traditional tennis dress.

“This was the first Grand Slam I won. This dress is very special – simple, white, a great cut for me.”

—2003 U.S. Open, pink and girlie dress.

“This is a beautiful feminine pink dress. I was only 16 at the time. The dress is so tiny!”
