The Falcons received 20 points, including one first-place vote. The Cowboys collected 14 points, and the Rams had 13.
The Colorado State women’s cross country team was picked to finish second with 55 points in the women’s preseason poll, while Wyoming was fourth with 43 points and Air Force tied with Utah for sixth with 26 points. The Rams had two first-place votes.
BYU was projected first in both the men’s and women’s polls.
