The Colorado Springs Sky Sox closed out their home schedule Sunday by setting a single-season attendance record of 274,408 fans.

The 6,350 people who watched the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate Sunday helped the team top the previous record of 269,904 set in 2001.

The top attendance date of the 2007 season was May 11, when 8,537 fans attended.

The Sky Sox set the single-season mark even though six home games were snowed out. The club has eight games left, but all are on the road.

At Coors Field, the Rockies’ average attendance is 28,793 through 65 games, up 6.9 percent from this time last season. In 2006, the team’s average attendance was 25,980 for 81 games.
