Denver — Crocs Inc. said today it will introduce a line of casual clothing using a form of its proprietary resin-like technology made popular in its colorful, funky footwear.
Although the Niwot, Colo.-based company has sold T-shirts and hats to accompany shoes, the apparel line is the first to incorporate Croslite and a move toward brand diversification, Crocs spokeswoman Tia Mattson said. She did not have details on how much the new apparel line has cost to produce.
The clothing ranges from adult T-shirts to children’s shorts, pants and skirts manufactured with a derivative of Croslite which is designed to make garments durable and resistant to chemicals and heat, the company said.
With a launch date of October, the apparel will be introduced this fall at U.S. retailers and will be available through the Crocs’ Web site.
Crocs’ stock rose 87 cents to $59.86 a share in morning trading.
