A SUV traveling at 65 mph was forced off the road early this morning in Weld County, causing it to enter a ditch and roll over at least once, police said.

The accident occurred just after 6 a.m. on northbound U.S. 85 in Weld County, according to Platteville Police Chief Troy Renken.

Five passengers in the Chevy Blazer were injured. Three had minor injuries and two had internal injuries. One was transported by ground and one was airlifted to the North Central Medical Center in Greeley, Renken said. None of the five was ejected from the vehicle although they were not wearing seat belts. The vehicle is registered in Arizona.

The Blazer was in the right-hand lane when it was forced off the road by a Toyota Camry in the left-hand lane, he said. One person in the Toyota was injured and taken to Greeley.

Renken said the passengers in the Toyota are from the Denver area. The driver will be charged with causing the accident, Renken said.
